Bakery 28

In March 2022, Sharon Kyanka purchased Bakery 28 from its original owner Pastry Chef Keli Marks. While she is keeping the pastry and croissant menus, Sharon is expanding the vegan and gluten-free menus which are her specialty.

My Story

Chef Sharon Kyanka

Is a graduate of the Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in Boulder, CO. Her dad had celiac disease and that inspired her to create whole new way of thinking about desserts.

She got her start with her bakery in Blacksburg, VA called Sweet Rebellion which was certified 100% gluten-free, vegan pastries and cakes.

While visiting Charlotte, Sharon fell in love with her sweetheart and the Lake Norman area. With the opportunity to purchase Bakery 28, she moved here to pursue her dream of bringing great tasting, funky and beautiful desserts to Lake Norman.
